Google chrome is one of the best web browser. Most of the people are using google chrome browser because of its add ons facilities and its available for cross-platform. This guide explains about how to install google chrome on centos 6 and redhat linux. Installation of google chrome is simple and it is also avail to other linux distribution. Yes, you can install it in ubunut, fedora, opensuse, debian linux distributions. Follow the simple steps to install google chrome on your centos and redhat linux

Fireup your browser with http://www.google.com/chrome and select your favorite language, then download it by clicking Download Google Chrome button.

Now open your terminal and type uname -i , if your operating system is x86_64 then select 64 bit .rpm (For Fedora/openSUSE) else if it is i386 or something in the i-series select 32 bit .rpm (For Fedora/openSUSE) . In my case I am using x86_64 ( 64 bit ) centos 6 linux. So I am choosing 64 bit .rpm (For Fedora/openSUSE) here and after reading the Google Chrome Terms of Service, I click Accept and install button.

Select Save button and save it.

After completing the download, open your terminal in root user mode and change to download directory.

[root@localhost Downloads]# rpm -ivh google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm

[root@localhost Downloads]#

In case  you encountered dependencies problem, use the following command to install google chrome

# yum install –nogpgcheck -y google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm

Now you can use Google Chrome via Applications > Internet > Google Chrome
